ISRO's Journey Beyond Chandrayaan 3

After the stupendous success of Chandrayan 3, there is no looking back for ISRO as they prepare to cross the unexplored frontiers of outer space. At the rate at which they are going ahead with their ambitious plans, they will leave no planet untouched while positioning India as a major space power.

This would not have been possible without a vibrant, enlivening, and all-encompassing work culture within the organization; which of late has become a favorite management topic both within and outside the country.

One cannot compare the salaries of ISRO scientists to the private sector. Such comparisons are odious. More than the commercial aspect, the satisfaction of working on a project of this nature and bringing laurels to the nation is a greater reward.

According to the ISRO, no member of the team including its leader, is greater than the team. The ISRO culture, based on an overarching flat structure, showcases teamwork and dedication. Inclusivity seems to be the mantra that is attracting talent in droves across ages and functional areas. Many young employees are of the view that there is a great degree of professional freedom and access to experts across disciplines is easy and unhindered.

Much akin to a Rishi who begins a tapasya and opens his eyes years later when the Lord appears before him, the ISRO employees literally took Sanyas from the outside world and made themselves scarce; only to appear again after the successful completion of the mission.

No wonder, they are on top of the world.
