The name Savji Dholakia doesn’t ring a bell. He is neither a media savvy personality nor a celebrity. He is an ordinary man with an extraordinary story. Born in a farmer family in Dudhala, Gujarat, Savji dropped out of school and joined his paternal uncle's diamond business in Surat. Later, his brothers Himmat & Tulsi teamed up with him and together they set up a Diamond business company in 1984. Today, Hari Krishna exports founded by Dholakia is worth $38 billion.

Every year on Diwali day, Dholakia has showered his employees with gifts. He gave away Renault KWID & Maruti Suzuki Celerio cars to 600 employees. A thousand more staff were presented cash deposits and apartments too. On another occasion, the businessman presented Mercedez Benz SUVs to three senior staffers who completed 25 years in the company.

In 2017, Dholakia had gifted 1200 Datsun Redi-GO cars to his employees on the occasion of new year. In the previous year, the merchant had given a Diwali bonus worth Rs 51 crore to his employees. He also presented 1,260 cars and 400 flats to his employees.

Besides his magnanimity and large heartedness, the man has never forgotten his roots and sees in every employee, his own struggle. Dholakia has understood that wealth and prosperity have to be distributed & not sealed in a vault. Who better than his employees to share; for they have toiled hard day and night for the company.

According to Dholakia, his employees are one big family and their every need has to be met so that they don’t have to go elsewhere for anything. No wonder, very few leave Hari Krishna exports.

Down south, a Chennai based company KIssflow gifted brand new BMW cars to their top 5 employees who have been serving the company for ten years since its inception.

Successful businessmen not only create wealth, but also believe in the concept of 'shared prosperity'.
